About Royal Oak School

Royal Oak School opened in Sector 26, Chandigarh in 2004, founded by the Royal Oak Educational Trust as a co-educational day school for the middle and senior years. The school is secular and admits students of every faith and background on merit and conduct.

The school is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi, and prepares students for the ICSE examination at the end of Class X and the ISC examination at the end of Class XII. The first ISC batch sat the board examination in 2011.

The 4.2-acre campus holds the middle and senior blocks, four science laboratories, two computer laboratories, a library of about 14,000 titles, a multipurpose court, and a playing field. Sections are capped at 32 students, and the school runs a single morning shift.

What we set out to do

We want students who can read closely, argue from evidence, and take responsibility for shared spaces. That shows up in small choices: lessons that open with a question, written feedback on work rather than a single mark, and mentor groups where a teacher knows sixteen students well.

Our values

  • Enquiry. Ask before you answer. Every subject starts from a question or a source.
  • Reason. Show your working, in mathematics and in an essay alike.
  • Contribution. Houses, clubs, and service projects expect students to give time, not only take part.
🧑‍🏫
From the Trust
We built Royal Oak to be a school that families could trust over the long middle-to-senior stretch, where a child grows up. We chose the ICSE and ISC path for its depth in language and its balance across subjects, and we kept the school small enough to hold to that.
