From the Principal
We keep Royal Oak mid-sized on purpose, so every student in Classes VI to XII is known by name. Our teachers plan for enquiry: a science lesson starts with a question, a history lesson with a source. Marks follow understanding, not the other way round.

How learning is organised

Sections capped at 32

Every section is limited to 32 students so teachers can mark written work in detail and track each child across the term.

Two languages from Class VI

English as the first language, with Hindi, Punjabi, or French offered as the second language through the middle years.

Laboratory time each week

Separate physics, chemistry, biology, and computer laboratories, with timetabled practical periods from Class VI upward.

Continuous assessment

Termly assessment combines class work, projects, and two written examinations, reported to parents through the online portal.

A weekly reading period

A 14,000-title library with a scheduled reading period each week and a graded reading list for Classes VI to X.

Pastoral mentoring

Each section has a class teacher, and mentor groups of about 16 students meet with a teacher every week through the year.

Parents and alumni

In their words

The reports tell us what our daughter can and cannot do yet, with examples from her own work. We changed schools for that.

Ritu AnandParent, Class VIII

Choosing the Commerce stream in Class XI was a real conversation with the subject heads, not a form. It shaped what I study now.

Kabir SethiAlumnus, ISC 2023

Small sections meant my son could ask questions without waiting his turn. His written English improved across one year.
